Jewellery resin technique at SMV Thailand

The different stages in making a piece of resin jewellery

1. Conception and design
Creation of drawings or models of the jewel. Determining the elements to be incorporated, such as motifs, pigments or inclusions.
2. Preparing the mould
Manufacture or preparation of a silicone or metal mould, adapted to the shape of the jewel.
3. Preparing the resin
Mixing the resin components. Add pigments, glitter or other decorative elements to the resin, if required.
4. Pour the resin
Pour the prepared resin into the mould. Use tools to eliminate air bubbles and ensure even distribution.
5. Hardening
Leave the resin to cure in the mould for the recommended time, generally at room temperature or in a low-heat oven, depending on the type of resin used.
6. Demoulding
Carefully remove the hardened jewellery from the mould to avoid damage.
7. Finish
Polishing and smoothing of the jewellery to obtain a shiny, uniform surface. Application of additional treatments such as varnishes or protective coats, if required.
8. Assembly
Integration of the resin jewellery with other elements such as metal frames or accessories. Checking details and final finishes.
9. Quality control
Final inspection of the jewellery to ensure it meets quality standards and design specifications.
