An alloy refers to a mixture of several chemical elements, the main component of which is a metal. Alloys are used to improve the properties of pure metals, which often have relatively poor mechanical properties. By adding other elements, it is possible to harden the metal, increase its corrosion resistance, improve its castability and modify other chemical and mechanical properties.
